The Roland GK-3 guitar synthesizer pickup, also known as a hexaphonic pickup, makes you guitar sound like a synthesizer. The vibrations of your strings are registered by the special 13-pin MIDI pickup, which converts them into a signal that can be read by the GR-55 guitar synthesizer. This signal is then converted into a sound of your choosing by the GR-55. Now you can play the saxophone or the piano on your guitar!

Installing the GK-3 pickup
Like a regular pickup, this 13-pin MIDI pickup has to be installed below the strings of your guitar. You can do so without drilling holes into the body or damaging your guitar in any other way. The double-sided tape keeps the pickup securely in place beneath your strings. The controller is placed on the accessory foam spacer that can be attached to the front of your guitar. A mounting plate is attached to the back in a similar way and allows you to clamp the controller onto the body of your instrument. The lacquer of your guitar is not damaged in the process.
